On a 90-plus degree Sunday in Long Beach, I drove out to Riverside, California to meet up with Scotty Cantino and the rest of Francisco The Man!, a band who has sort of dropped off the face of Southern California lately. Pulling down Scotty’s street, the only way I knew which house was his [...]
Jessica Dobson’s hard work seems to be finally paying off. After years of performing all over Long Beach and the Los Angeles area, heads are finally turning. It’s no secret where some of the attention comes from: Last year, Jessica was asked to play lead guitar on tour with rock mogul and [...]

Nima Kazerouni is a good dude with an enormous amount of talent. Lately, he’s been wasting no time creating his solo project So Many Wizards. With a little reverb, a good amount of distortion, and a lot of experimentation, So Many Wizards gave Nima the opportunity to create a sound no other project he’d [...]

On a 90-plus degree Sunday in Long Beach, I drove out to Riverside, California to meet up with Scotty Cantino and the rest of Francisco The Man!, a band who has sort of dropped off the face of Southern California lately. Pulling down Scotty’s street, the only way I knew which house was his was the neighborhood-shocking noise that blared through a closed garage door.
For the next 3 hours, in a cooped garage space baking in the Inland Empire sun, Scotty, Nestor and Abdeel plugged in and played the 7-minute youth reminiscent powerhouse of *Do You Remember?* as we sweat out whatever evening activities we’d gotten ourselves into that weekend. With clothes completely soaked, I found myself more than blown away and it quickly became evident why these guys hadn’t played any shows lately. They’ve been writing really good songs.
Francisco the Man! is Scotty Cantino (guitar/vocals), Nestor Romero (bass) and Abdeel Ortega (drums).
